teapigs Matcha Latte

teapigs Matcha Latte

I talked about the teapigs matcha pop-up bar in Harvey Nichols a few weeks ago and I also mentioned the new teapigs Matcha Latte flavours they were launching. I was sent some samples for the PR to try out and I was very impressed. I am a a bit of a fan of teapigs anyway so I was keen to find out about their new matcha products.

Along with turneric, avocado, goji berries, maca and morniga, matcha is the name on every foodie’s lips. It contains a wide source of nutritional benefits, aka ten times more than Green Tea. It also makes you calm and helps you to focus.

teapigs launched their first matcha latte a few years ago, they were the first tea brand in the UK to do this and it is now their fastest growing tea. There are five flavours in total which are pure, mint, turmeric, chai and cocoa.

teapigs Matcha Latte is delicious!

I followed the instructions which told me to boil some milk in the a pan. I used Alpro Coconut Milk and let the milk heat up and then added the Matcha Latte. I then waited for it to boil and then poured it into my cup.

I will admit that this is some great tea; it has a very aromatic taste that you get from coconut and the flavour is strong enough not to warrant me putting in some sugar. As I am cutting down my sugar intake this is a massive plus for me. The texture is a lot thicker than regular tea due to the fact that it has milk as opposed to water.

teapigs Matcha Latte are priced at £1.25 for a sachet and £9.99 for a box of ten sachets.

Gosh those look good! I’m not really a big fan of matcha (it tastes a bit too much like grass imho) but I think toned down with milk it could be quite nice!

You did not taste the matcha that much because the milk is very full on.

I love my matcha tea, especially my Teapigs ones. I’ve never tried them as a latte though, might have to give that a go.
