Pip & Nut Butters

February 20, 2018
Pip & Nut Butters

I used to devour Peanut Butter as a kid but I was only re-introduced to it a few years back when I got myself a Nutribullet. Peanut Butter or Nut Butter as the foodies call it, adds protein and vitamin E to your diet and no-one does this better than Pip & Nut.

The brand was founded by Pippa Murray in 2015, a marathon runner who needed a tasty but nutritious protein source to give her energy. She couldn’t find anything so she decided to create one herself.

She raised the money to launch the brand via crowd-funding and today Pip & Nut is the fastest growing nut butter brand in the country.  The nut butters contain no palm oil and are suitable for vegans. It can be found in over 4000 stores around the UK and Europe such as Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, ASDA, Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason and Whole Foods.

I was gifted four tubs of the Nut Butter by the PR – Coconut Almond Butter, Crunchy Peanut Butter, Chocolate Coconut Hazelnut and Smooth Almond Butter. They also sent me two cartons of their Almond Milk which I will review at a later date.

I tried out theSmooth Almond Butter and it tastes really lovely on toast and also very nice in a smoothie. I thought it would be too sweet on toast but it has the right amount of flavour and makes a truly tasty toastie. In my smoothies I found that these Nut Butters added texture and richness.

At £3.95 per jar they are a bit pricey for the size especially when you compare them to other brands, however what you are getting are some natural goodness. So if you are buying nut butters for your smoothies then it makes sense to invest in one that is natural as you can get it. This brand comes very close.

Both mine are absolute peanut butter fans. I haven’t tried them on other types but now I am wondering why I havent. As kipper is diary free if would be nice for him to have something a little different. Will be keeping an eye out for them x

Unfortunately I don’t like peanut butter. Which is a real shame as clearly I am missing out! Husband is a huge fan though.

I guess it’s like Marmite, you either love it or hate it.

I’ve heard really good things about this brand, but I’ve not yet tried their products. I need to remedy this! We love nut butters in our house. 🙂
